Shimano SLX HG80 Cassette

The latest generation of Shimano's patented & proven HyperGlide cassettes provide dependable shifting with reduced weight. Compared to the old LX cassette, the newly designed SLX utilises the alloy carrier body that is found on the XT and XTR models to drop weight significantly over all-steel cassettes. The alloy carrier provides a stiffer platform for more accurate shifting and reduced potential damage on lightweight hub bodies that can be gouged into by all-steel cassettes. Computer-designed Hyperglide (HG) sprockets incorporate specifically positioned shift ramps and tooth profiles for improved chain control during shifting and the Nickel/chrome plating on the cassette teeth provide durability and increased wear life.

While designed to replace either Shimano or SRAM 9-speed cassettes, the SLX shifts optimally with Shimano HG chains.
