661 Filter SPD Shoe

Don't want a full-on race style SPD shoe?
The 661 Filter Shoes are based on a skate trainer and have a stiff clipless compatible sole. The toe box is comfy, with enough protection to avoid dreaded ‘dead toe’ sensations when you smash them on rocks. Unlike full-blown racing shoes, this roomier toe area allows for plenty of wiggle room and the ability to run thicker socks for a little extra cushion. A sturdy heel support encloses your ankle and feels secure without hindering movement, and the sole has enough upward flex to make walking comfortable. A Velcro strap acts as a lace saver, but is removable. While they may not quite be as quick to do up as a bunch of velcro straps, the lace system is still the most ergonomic way to tension the shoe to your feet, applying even pressure over the top of your foot without causing any pressure points or pinching. Combined with the upper single Velcro strap, you'll be able to keep your feet nice n snug in the Filter's, with minimal movement and heel slip whilst pedalling. Compared to running regular skate shoes or Vans on your mountain bike, the Filter utilise a stiff nylon midsole that boosts overall rigidity to make for more efficient pedalling as well as improved comfort for your feet on longer rides. Whereas a skate shoe will flex over the top of the pedal body and cause strain on your feets tendons & muscles, the Filter stays stable to provide your feet with a solid platform.
