Fox 32 Talas 140 Terralogic FIT Fork
One of the most revered travel-adjust forks on the market, the Fox Talas fork has dominated the XC/Trail/All Mountain market for many years with its cleverly designed external travel adjuster and its ability to remain sensitive at any travel setting. The Talas 140 fork adds to this pedigree with some premium features for 2012, such as the gold Kashima Coat stanchions and new SKF fork seals that improve suppleness and responsiveness. The big news however, is the addition of the Terralogic feature to this long-travel AM fork, which gives it an unbelievable level of efficiency that other brands XC forks can only dream about! The Talas also switches between 140 & 110mm of travel with the flick of a switch meaning you can get back up the hill quick for another white knuckled descent.

From Fox:

"For 2012, we have produced more usable travel with lower compression ratios for better performance and durability, with improved air spring curves, and ultra low-friction Kashima Coat stanchions provide lightning-fast suspension response. Travel adjustments are now easier and quicker, with the new 2-position TALAS system that instantly changes travel between 140-110 mm. Building upon the championship performance of our FIT damper, an all-new FIT Terralogic model has been added, making 32 TALAS the most versatile 32 mm trail fork available. The Terralogic damper gives riders the same incredible suspension consistency, fade-free damping, and race-winning front-end traction that riders demand from our FIT RLC model, while its redesigned inertia valve senses changes in terrain, providing optimal firmness for maximum pedaling efficiency, or full, plush travel - instantly - with no extra input from the rider. The 15-position Terralogic threshold adjuster allows settings anywhere from lockout firm to completely open, allowing the rider to tune it for anything from XC races to All-mountain epics".

Kashima Coat
The Kashima Coat is not only more durable than the stanchion coating used on competitors forks and previous Fox forks, it also reduces friction. Fox test riders reported better overall traction in the front end and better small bump compliance which is all good news for those who appreciate good suspension. You will notice the Fox Forks that have the Kashima Coated stanchions by the distinctive Gold finish on the upper legs, that not only serves to be super shiny and slippery, but also adds a heavy dose of bling to your steed!

TALAS
The renowned Talas system continues to evolve through refinement on the 2012 Fox Forks range. Standing for: "Travel-Adjustable-Linear-Air-Spring", the Talas system is one of the few travel adjustment setups on the market where the damping and suspension feel is unchanged between the two different travel settings.
Heading through the singletrack and approaching a climb, keep the fork at the lower travel setting for fast and responsive handling, then when things point downhill and get a little more gravity-fed, open the fork out to the 140mm setting to enjoy all the stability and plushness that the Fox 32 fork is renowned for.

Terralogic FIT Damper
The Terralogic concept is simple; remove any unnecessary 'bobbing' and 'diving' movement from the fork, whilst providing plush suspension as soon as you hit an obstacle - and do it all automatically.
On Fox Terralogic forks, there is one adjuster that gives you 15-positions between fully locked out and fully open. Adding the FIT cartridge to the mix makes the new version supremely plush and makes the transition from locked out to plush unnoticeable. For XC racers and trail riders, the Terralogic model is a must-have for those wanting to make their bike as efficient and fast as possible, without the need for lockout levers and remotes. Simple really; locked out when you want it, plush suspension when you want it.

Rebound
Rebound adjustment is all about controlling how slow or fast your fork returns to full travel after hitting an obstacle. Dial the red knob clockwise and the fork slows down, dial the knob anti-clockwise and the fork speeds up in return. Our hot tip at My Mountain is to run the rebound on the slower side than what you might be used to, in order to allow your front tyre to stick to the trail and maintain better traction.
