The design isn't the most exciting, but it is known for being durable and comfortable and why change what is already proven? The lock-on feature is about as new and techy that Oury gets, though we welcome it, as it is a mating of two great designs. You get the reliability of a Lock-on grip that doesn't twist or rotate in wet conditions, and the comfort of the soft Oury rubber in the classic waffle design. And as with most quality MTB products, it's one less thing to worry about when you're hammering down a trail! It's worth noting that the lock-on version is slightly thinner than the standard grip, so it tends to suit more hand sizes.
