Maxxis Ardent 26x2.25" EXO Mountain Bike Tyre
Featuring ramped centre knobs for fast rolling on all terrain, the Ardent is an aggressive and grippy tyre in loose, rocky and hardpack conditions. A recent addition to the Maxxis tires range, the Ardent tyre is available as a new option in XC, All Mountain, DH and 29er versions, and combines many of the best attributes of the Maxxis tyre lineup to become one of their most versatile treads. For those looking for a new option on their mountain bike, the Ardent EXO tyre combines a high-volume 2.25" casing for supreme traction and comfort to nicely complement the rest of the Australian Maxxis mountain bike range. If you ride in lots of wet conditions or in really soft and loamy soil, you'll be better off checking out a toothier tyre such as the High Roller or Minion tyre, but for gravelly type surfaces and railing dusty hardpack at spped, you'll be hard pressed to find a grippier and more supple tyre.

EXO Model
A new addition to the Maxxis tyre range, is the new EXO casing and sidewall construction that adds protection against rocks and sharp objects that would otherwise cause damage on regular tyres. The stronger casing gives trail riders improved durability to sidewall cuts and abrasions, especially in rocky and rooty conditions, whilst adding a modest 30 grams to the overall tyre.
Using a hardy 60 TPI casing, the folding version of the Ardent keeps the weight down without sacrificing durability. The 70a rubber Durometer will give you long-wearing performance, unlike many XC tyres currently on the market that seem to only last a couple of rides, and the high volume casing means they'll absorb all of the trail obstacles in your way. Run the Ardent between 27-30psi to get the most out of the soft and pliable casing that will easily mold and wrap around rocks, roots and other obstacles on the trail.
