A little less stiff and a lot less agro than its mountain siblings, the Race Mountain is the perfect choice for the off-road rider who wants a shoe that's efficient on the bike but also has great off the bike walkability across a variety of terrain.

Designed as an all-round shoe for mountain biking, commuting and touring, the Race shoe from Bontrager is comfortable and versatile. Compared to a regular running or skate shoe, the Race features a nylon plate through the midsole of the shoes to provide additional stiffness and support for your feet when pedalling. The result is more comfort and stability that is particularly noticeable if you're combining these with clipless pedals. On that note, you can use the Race shoes with flats or clip pedals. The cleat mounting area is recessed, so it's easy to walk around in them. Simple 3 strap Velcro closure allows the shoes to be put on and taken off quickly, and a custom eSoles inner footbed makes the Race shoes impressively comfortable. Although still new to the shoe game the guys at Bontrager racked up two years of education and research before they felt comfortable to start with prototypes and testing. This dedication to getting it right shows itself in the way the shoes fit, feel and perform, and of course by the number or riders that have jumped into a pair of Bontrager shoes over the last couple of years.
