When we think of the Soho Deluxe we think of a work-horse.  Tough, reliable, with understated good looks while making no mistake about its intentions.   The Soho Deluxe is the get around town  bike utility delivered with mudguards and a rear rack ready to be loaded up for you daily commute or a long weekend ride on a rail trail.  There are no extras that need to be purchased it’s ready to go everywhere all weather.  It also has a major element of low maintenance  with the inclusion of a Shimano Nexis 8 speed hub that is driven by a Carbon Drive belt making the drive-train as clean and quiet as it is maintenance free.  Any concerns about the belt drive can be quickly discounted as the life span of one belt is the same life you would get from 3 or 4 chains. ( a long time)  With this extended life also comes no need for lubrication and the complete absence of chain noise.  All adding up to make the Soho Deluxe a riding pleasure

Our favourite features of the Soho Deluxe

Belt drive

Stronger, lighter, and cleaner than any chain. Belt Drive is low-maintenance urban simplicity at its best.

The Gates Carbon Drive belt is a carbon-composite one-piece design, at least 300 grams lighter than any chain.
The Belt Drive system requires no lube, no mess, no grease, and no worries.
The carbon composite construction of the Gates Carbon Drive belt has the riding lifespan of three chains.

Disc brakes

Reliable stopping power in all conditions.  Rain, hail, or shine the disc brakes on the Soho will pull you up reliably without compromise.

no description on the wheels; what can you tell me/offer ?

Hi there, Great question! The wheels specced on the Trek Soho DLX are a 700c Commuter wheelset designed to stand up to the day-in-day-out thrashing of riding on bike paths and busy city streets, and are overbuilt for this purpose. They are comprised of the Bontrager Nebula rims laced with 36 spokes onto Shimano M475 Centrelock disc hubs. These wheels have featured on a number of Trek and Fisher commuter bikes over the past 2 years and we have had nothing but excellent experience with them. Many of these bikes are loaded up with heavy panniers and are ridden on less than perfect bike tracks, though we're yet to see any of these wheels go out of true. The 36 spokes helps distribute the stresses more evenly compared to a more common 32 spoked wheel, and the Nebula rim is a tough alloy rim with thicker walls to resist denting and keep the overall wheel straight & true. If you ride in a lot of wet weather, you will want to clean out and re-grease the Shimano hubs every 9-12 months or so, which is easily done with 2 cone wrenches. Some people get a bit funny about the cup and cone bearings on Shimano hubs (as oppose to cartridge bearings), but we're big fans of the system as they're super easy to service and maintain yourself and if you do wear anything out then parts are easily accessible from any Shimano dealer (basically every bike shop out there!). Hope that helps with some info, though please send us any other inquiries or call the shop. Regards, Wil My Mountain
