Shimano SLX M660-10 Crankset

With the same HollowTech II crankarms as the 9 speed version, the 10 speed SLX cranks use DynaSys specific chainrings for use with 10 speed chains. Shimano have used a tighter ratio on the new SLX cranks with a 42t big ring, 32t middle and 24t granny that keeps front shifting smooth and fast, while working optimally with the latest wide-range cassettes.
Shimano has created the SLX group to be a workhorse offering: affordable, yet light, durable and specific to the demands of all mountain riding. Combining the best of Deore XT and the Shimano Saint groupsets, the SLX range combines strength and trail-friendly weight to give you the ultimate MTB components. Taking cues from a number of different Shimano cranksets, the SLX cranks pack in a few neat features like the HollowTech II design, which utilises hollow crank arms for a lighter overall weight and a stiffer platform under power. The axle is made of durable pipe billet steel for strength, while the middle chainring uses a carbon composite inner plate with steel teeth to double wear life over aluminum middle chainrings. Shimano's chainrings continue to be the best shifting in the industry and the standard 4-bolt pattern means they're easy to replace too. The 2-piece design means the cranks are stiffer than older 3-piece models, and the external bottom bracket widens the load in the frame for more responsive pedalling. Included is the Shimano external bottom bracket that features alloy cups and sealed cartidge bearings for longevity.
