Shimano Saint Cranks M810

When it comes to high performance DH componentry, Shimano Saint has it stitched up. The bombproof Saint cranks have featured a re-design from the original model to reduce weight by 150 grams by using the XTR-exclusive Duraluminum alloy. With thicker hollow walls and a burly axle, you'll be hard pressed to find anything with the same strength-to-weight ratio as the Saint cranks. Available in 2 different widths to suit 135mm or 150mm rear ends, the Saints will suit hardcore trail riders and DH racers after a no-compromise 

Shimano Saint evolved as a DH-specific groupset to meet the demands of hard 'n' heavy riders that were thrashing their XTR components on 8" gravity bikes. Seeing that they could improve on these specific needs, Saint was introduced to maximise strength and stiffness in key areas where a bike would see bigger stresses than in normal cross country riding. When it comes to laying down power, a flexy crank can mean the difference between 1st and 2nd place on the podium, and to ensure that all of your precious pedalling goes straight into the rear wheel, the Saint cranks feature a stiff HollowTech design to reduce any potential flex between your pedals and the frame. With a 200% increase in stiffness over the previous model, the M810 Saint cranks leave little else to be desired as their weight is not that far off more exotic XC cranks. The cranks come with an external BB that features re-designed sealing and higher spec cartridge bearings over older Shimano cranks and as a result will roll smoother for longer. For those riders that like to jump off large objects, you'll be happy to know that the Saint cranks get steel threaded pedal inserts so there is little worry about turning alloy threads into butter if your landing moves from where it was supposed to be.
