SRAM X0 DH Rear Derailleur
Brand new for 2012 is the SRAM X0 DH Groupset. Taking everything awesome with the latest 2x10 X0 and combining it with their BlackBox DH race development squad, SRAM have created a range of DH race-specific components that are not only built to take on the rigours of downhill riding and racing, but also allow you to get more performance from your DH bike and hopefully shave seconds off your race run. The DH-specific rear derailleur comes in the one Short cage length, and is tweaked for use on cassettes up to a 28t big cog. The main difference in the X0 DH however, is the shapely P-Knuckle that provides a different geometry for the derailleur through its range of movement, following the cogs more closely on a tight range cassette such as an 11-26t. While XC and trail riders will find the regular X0 derailleur suitable for the wider range 2x10 and 3x10 drivetrains, Downhillers, Dirt Jumpers and anyone else running a tight block cassette will see benefit from the new X0 DH unit.

Featuring development through SRAM's BlackBox race program, X0 has a proud racing heritage that has seen it ridden to victory across all disciplines of the sport. It is this versatility that makes the X0 component line so appealing, as well as their famous reputation for bulletproof reliability and ease of service. Although it has been updated for 10 speed, the X0 rear derailleur shares many of the original features of the 9 speed version that made it such a winner, such as the Exact Actuation cable pull ratio, it's rebuildable design, Carbon Fiber pulley cage and Direct cable routing technology. At just 203 grams, it is lighter than ever, but clever use of materials and forging techniques have also made the X0 stronger than ever. The SRAM engineers were careful not to sculpt away too much weight however, as any loss of chassis stiffness would result in flex and poor shifting. Thankfully the X0 rear derailleur is as stout as they come and the difference out on the trail is snappy and direct shifts that will spoil you with its accuracy.
