Shimano SLX M660-10 10 speed R/H Shifter

One of the great offshoots of the new Shimano and SRAM 10 speed groupsets is the improved usability of 1x10 setups. With a wide-range cassette out back such as an 11-36t Shimano SLX cassette, using a 32t, 34t or 36t single chainring up front provides a lower range and smoother transitions between gears compared to previous 9 speed drivetrains. Aside from being lighter than a 2x10 or 3x10 drivetrain, the main drawcard of a 1x10 setup is simplicity and ease of maintenance as there is no front derailleur to maintain and one less cable to worry about. If you don't find yourself using all of your 20 or 30 speeds and like the idea of creating a more simple, durable drivetrain setup, pairing up a 10 speed cassette with a Shimano SLX shifter & derailleur gives you exactly that.

Combining the best of Deore XT and the Shimano Saint groupsets, the SLX range combines strength and trail-friendly weight to give you the ultimate MTB components. If you want to remove any doubt in your drivetrains performance, Shimano SLX is a solid choice. The SLX Rapidfire shifters utilise Shimano's "2-Way Release" mechanism that allows riders to pull the release trigger with their index finger, or push it with their thumb. This allows you to operate the shifter exactly how you need to, allowing you to concentrate on the trail. Continuing the ergonomic theme, the shifters can be mounted inboard or outboard of the brake levers so you can have them in perfect reach for your hands and the gear indicator can also be removed, should you wish to de-clutter the handlebars. With the right hand shifter being compatible with Dyna-Sys 10 speed rear derailleurs, it features a more crisp and audible "click" for each gear change than previous Shimano shifters, letting you know exactly when you've fired off a shift.
