Genuine Avid disc brake pads for the original Code brakes (2007-2010). When it comes time to replace your worn out brake pads, fitting genuine Avid replacement pads ensures optimum braking power and smooth modulation through the life of the brake. With the engineers at Avid having designed their disc rotors to work specifically with their disc pads, you can ensure that you will have safe operation and even pad wear through a variety of conditions. 
If you own the newer style Avid Code brakes with the Elixir-style lever, you will require the newer Code brake pads (MY11).
 

• Organic: Organic compound provides stronger braking power that is suited to dry riding conditions and ensures quieter braking when compared to metal sintered pads. For hot Australian conditions, you will get more bite and smoother braking with Organic pads, though for extended downhill trails where your brakes run very hot, the Metallic pads are the better choice.
   
• Sintered Metallic: Metal Sintered compound provides consistent braking in wet weather with more braking bite on those rainy days. The metal sintered pads last longer than organic pads, dissipate heat quicker and are suited to all riding conditions. If your concern is all-condition braking and pad wear life, these are the pads for you
