Put simply, the Avid lever shape is one of the most comfortable on the market and works well for both 1 and 2 finger braking. Using a flip-flop design, the ambidextrous levers can be run on either side of the handlebar, and the adjustable lever reach means you can setup the lever position in the ideal spot for your hands. And while the FR-5 brake levers will work with any mechanical disc brake or linear pull V-Brake, they will work best with the Avid BB7 disc brakes thanks to the flat pull ratio that ensures a consistent and linear feel to the braking power.
