2012 Camelbak Aurora 2.0L Womens Hydration Pack
The latest female specific hydration pack from Camelbak features a comfy harness, 2 litre Antidote reservoir and 3 litres of storage space, making the Aurora ideal for trail rides up to 2.5 hours. The first brand to pioneer hands-free hydration, the Camelbak bladder revolutionized mountain biking, allowing riders to take the tubes, pumps, tools and water bottle off their bikes and stow it in a comfortable and durable backpack. With class-leading hydration technologies and field-tested pack designs, there is no other brand with a reputation anywhere near Cammelbak, and with a range of different styles and sizes available, there is a hydration solution for every rider out there.

While their female specific hydration bag range, Camelbak have set out to adapt some of their classic backpack designs to suit the female physique and provide a quality option for the vast majority of women riders out there who aren't necessarily racing. The Aurora is the smallest pack in the range, with a 2 litre Antidote bladder and 3 litres of additional storage space, which makes it a great bag for those after work trail rides or weekend epics. While many riders may be accustomed to slapping a water bottle onto their frame before heading out to the trails, using a 750mL bottle for anything longer than 45 minutes isn't going to give you sufficient hydration. One of the main advantages of using a hydration bladder like a Camelbak is that it encourages you to drink more often, as the bite valve is always readily accessible and avoids you having to bend over to reach down to a bottle cage around your feet. Many women specific mountain bikes often have limited space for fitting in a bottle anyway so a pack like the Aurora starts to become a necessity and not just a luxury. Although many of the features draw on the Camelbak Rogue, the Aurora gets a shorter overall torso length to fit shorter female backs without sending the riders centre of gravity out of whack. There are 2 separate zippered compartments, with the lower pocket containing a gear organiser for your tools and spares, and if you need to squeeze in an extra layer or snacks, the external Overfill stowage area uses mesh walls and compression straps to provide additional storage space when required.
The harness sees some significant differences between the male and female versions, with S-curved shoulder straps and inverted adjustment points designed to avoid any uncomfortable friction and rubbing. The shoulder harness is lined with Velvetex™ material to provide super-soft comfort next to your skin when riding in a singlet top. Like the Rogue, the Aurora gets the Air Channel back panel to increase air flow across the riders back to avoid sweat and heat build up, and the comfortable foam padding keeps any pointy objects inside your pack from protruding into your back.

Camelbak Antidote Bladder
A key reason why Camelbak packs stand out from the rest, the latest hydration bladder is incredibly durable for it's weight, uses a taste-free lining and is even leak proof too. In fact, Cammelback have so much confidence in their Antidote reservoir that they give them a lifetime warranty. The lining of the bladder is treated with HydroGuard™ in order to inhibit the growth of bacteria, keeping the water you drink safe and taste-free. With a huge opening on the Antidote reservoir, it is easy to get inside to clean out the reservoir, which is made even easier with the Camelbak cleaning kit. And when you're done filling up the bladder, the 1/4 turn Quick-snap cap makes everything safe, secure and leak proof. Compared to previous models that required many more turns to close off the filler cap, the latest Antidote model is almost impossible to over-tighten and is much more user-friendly. The quality doesn't stop there though, as the Camelbak Big Bite Valve provides easy hands-free drinking, with a small shut off valve for drip-free riding. One of the big improvements with the latest reservoir is it's quick release detachable drinking tube that can be removed from the bladder with a simple lever, allowing for separate cleaning as necessary.
