Truvativ BooBar Riser Bar 780mm Spotting the "wider is better" mentality a couple of seasons ago, Truvativ went out to create a bombproof handlebar that was suitable for World Cup level DH racing as well as the rigours of aggressive trail riding. The result is a massive 780mm wide riserbar that sits at the top of the tree in the Truvativ handlebar range in terms of width and strength. Named after former BlackBox manager and now long-travel product manager Jeremiah Boobar, the massive 780mm width is perfect for those looking for more stability and ultimate high speed control. Like the Stylo handlebar range, the BooBar employs the Truvativ exclusive 7050 TV Alloy construction that provides an impressive strength-to-weight ratio that is designed to stand up to the abuse dished out by shuttle DH riding and racing. Likewise for the finish, instead of painting, the BooBar is shot-peened for a highly scratch-resistant surface that is also lighter than powdercoating. The alloy bar features custom internal tapered walls for beefed up strength around the stem clamp area, with thinner walls towards the end for improved vibration control and reduced overall weight. As the BooBar is designed to be run with a short and stubby stem (35-60mm) it doesn't feature the same backsweep as the trail-focussed Stylo range, instead going for 7 degrees back and 5 degrees of upsweep. The result is a comfy position for your hands, but with maximum stability and control offered by the massive width. While you can trim the bar down in width, we wouldn't recommend going too far as your brake and shift levers will only mount in board so far before the bar tapers to a larger diameter, limiting the range of adjustment if you cut a lot of material off. Otherwise, embrace the 31 inch width and give your mates bar envy! From TruVativ:
